Landmapp Closes Funding round with Omidyar Network and HERi Africa

Press Release:

WASHINGTON (February 13, 2017) —  Omidyar Network announced today that it has invested in Landmapp BV, an Amsterdam-based property rights company that enables smallholder farmers to document and protect their land holdings. The investment will help Landmapp to grow its customer base in Ghana, where the company is providing this unique service primarily to cocoa farmers. The transaction also involved participation by HERi Africa, an existing investor in the company. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Landmapp is setting up the Ghana team!

The last couple of months, we have been very busy with setting up a new team in Ghana, the first country we are now operational! Thomas and his wife, Kim, moved in May to Accra for six months to help set up the business further and hire new staff members. The field team has now been working for two months and they are quickly becoming rural land tenure experts. Their job has been made easier by the arrival of a car and two motorcycles, which help them getting to (remote) rural villages and the farm plots.…
